SET-UP TECHNICIAN

The Setup Technician is responsible for assembling and preparing office equipment for delivery and installation. This position is located at our Portage office. The Setup Technician primarily works with internal personnel, including delivery drivers, administrative and service staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble, configure, and test MFPs and other print devices following Rhyme’s standard procedures and checklists.
  • Unbox new equipment from packaging.
  • Assemble equipment and install appropriate consumables.
  • Program equipment as defined by the Network Site Survey, including scan to email, IP address, fax settings, and user control information.
  • Wrap completed equipment and prepare for delivery to client.
  • Refurbish used machines, following standard procedures and checklists, and prepare for client use.
  • Remove parts from used machines for field technician use, as required.
  • Document actions performed on equipment and parts and supplies installed by thoroughly and accurately completing assigned Work Orders.
  • Monitor the equipment delivery schedule to ensure setup is complete and equipment is prepared for delivery on time.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work place, including emptying garbage, sweeping, and storing tools and supplies.
  • Complete online training through manufacturers to advance technical knowledge and skills.

EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanically and electrically inclined or interested.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and quickly adjust with changing demands of the job.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel occasionally during the work day.
  • Previous professional experience in a technical role.
  • Previous electronics training.
  • Ability to work additional hours, including weekends, to obtain work objective and meet deadlines.
